Topic: Knickernappies cloth diaper help
I am a frequent lurker but don't post very often. I am having trouble finding any info online so i am reaching out to you wonderful mamas! I am hoping someone can shed some light on the leaking issues I am having with my Knickernappies brand diapers. I have 24 assorted cloth diapers with 6 of those being the Knickernappies brand. These are the only ones I am having issues with and am about to sell/trade them on Craigslist for another brand if I can't fix them.
A little background, I bought them all as a used set. Wash in hot, with Tide, extra rinse cycle, hot dryer, sometimes line dry if I can find any warmth and sun in this foggy Oregon weather, no diaper creams, just stripped them earlier this week and still they leak. I have played around with all the different snap settings, different inserts, everything I can think of. We have been using them since she was 6 weeks old, Avery is just over 5 months.
Now as for the leaks they tend to be on the top flaps where you adjust the waist. Since they snap opposite than my other cloths it seems to wick out on the edges here. Almost like I need an absorbent pad all the way to the corners? Also if Avery is on her side at all pee just pours out her legs, but I don't feel like I can get the snaps any tighter around her chubby thighs. I have to really work to get the second tightest snapped. I don't mind laundry but at this point I have to change her outfit with every Knickernappie diaper change and the diaper almost appears dry.
I am starting to think that Knickernappies are just not meant to fit Avery, since we are not having leaks with any of the other brands. Any tips or suggestions? There has to be something I am missing. Thanks in advance!
