Topic: Bittersweet

My (adopted) son and his fiancé are 20 weeks pregnant and needed a ride to OB for anatomy scan. They came out hand in hand and were snuggled close with their secret all the way home in the van. They want to do a gender reveal gift to her mom and I at Christmas which is just fine. It warmed my heart to see how happy they were. I admit I had a few tears on the way home because I never got that far and never will. I can't wait to be a grandma....LOL....either by accident or on purpose to throw us off they slipped a few "her" pronouns when talking about the baby on the way home...

Re: Bittersweet

I'm sorry you had to go through that but congrats on soon becoming a grandma. We just had our 8th grandchild born yesterday at 5:10pm. Her name is Sariah Grace and she is 6lbs 15oz of pure perfection!!!!

Re: Bittersweet

TheOtherLovingMoms--congratulations on Sariah. That is wonderful. My son and fiancé don't have much but I have an embarrassing amt. of baby things to give them. After Christmas I am helping them get their nursery in order. I am glad they are including me and allowing me to share their joy.

Re: Bittersweet

Congratulations to both of you!!

Re: Bittersweet

I am shocked my son has been able to keep the gender a secret so long....but I get a gender reveal Christmas present in 2 days and I am so excited. We are going to start on their nursery after Christmas. I have added 2 teen girls to our home in November and their sister is coming today..so it's been crazy around here. Due date is April 7 for my grandchild...it will be here before we know it.

Re: Bittersweet

Third child arrived Sat. AM...so far so good. My son and fiancé gave me a shiny "pink" ornament. So...we are expecting a little girl in April. I am very excited...and honestly a little sad too...there will always be that sense of loss after years of losing battle to have my own. Nothing to do but move on.
