Geez! That's an amazing amount of eggs.
Let's hope one of those is your future little one. It's so nerve wrecking to wait until you find out.
Good vibes your way, I hope you get some really good embryos.
Take care of yourself, can't imagine how your poor overachiever ovaries are feeling.

I guess you would only be blue to go by complexion relative to race.
Non-Caucasian donors aren't abundant, unfortunately.

Max came home after a grueling week in NICU. That was the most challenging and emotionally draining thing I've ever had to do. To come visit your baby hoping he'll come home that day and the dr telling you not today.
The feedings were awful. They wanted him to drink 40ml of milk in less than 30 minutes. I was force feeding my baby. He would gag and vomit because he didn't want more milk but the nurse assured me he needed to drink it.
I would get there at 8am and leave at 6pm because I didn't want to be away. I would've been there 24hrs but I could barely walk at the end of the day.

Anyway, he's been home and eating like a champ once I switched to the bottles I had for him. His pediatrician said the NICU requirements were exaggerated and that he was happy with Max eating 20ml every two hours because he's perfectly healthy.
That was almost two weeks ago. Now Max is nearing 90ml per feeding and we take however long he needs to finish eating.

I'm enjoying my maternity leave, staying at home and spending all my time with baby Max. I'm still in awe that I'm finally a momma!

That's a gorgeous pair of twins!!
I'm so glad they are doing so well! I'm actually impressed they don't even have oxygen!
Hope they breeze through NICU milestones and are home soon.
Having a baby in NICU is the toughest thing I've ever had to do.

Maxwell Aaron is here!!!
Born on 5/11 @ 3:42pm
5lbs 4oz and 18.9inches

I went to the MFM on 5/11 and after my Ultrasound I met with the dr who told me baby wasn't growing as he should and I needed to head to the hospital to deliver.
He said the placenta might not be working properly due to my Hypertension and baby needed to come out before it failed.
I wasn't dilated at all so they put that pill they put in your cervix but it triggered contractions and baby's heartbeat stared dropping way too early.
So my dr came in and told me she had to do a csection. At the OR the anesthesiologist tried twice to give me an epidural but couldn't get through the spine so I had to go under general anesthesia.
They put my folly while awake ????
So I went under, baby went to NICU and I was bedridden for 24 hours and dying to meet my baby. I got a call from the NICU nurse for the status and that was all... I didn't understand a thing because I was so agitated. I asked my dr for sleeping meds to get through to the morning.
I was finally able to meet him at 9am the next day.
We're still at the hospital. I'll be going home tomorrow and Max might or might not come home with me.
He has been progressing really quickly. Feeding tube and oxygen came off in less than 24hours. Today I found out his 48 hour culture was cleared so he came off antibiotics. We're now waiting for him to get to ingesting 40ml of milk and tolerating it. This morning dr said tomorrow or the next day so we'll see how the night goes.
I'm so in love with my little guy!

Sorry those didn't make it.
Are you going through with the PGD or transferrring them without?

10

(5 replies, posted in Trying to Conceive)

O+ here!
Used a O- donor and got pregnant.

(29 replies, posted in Trying to Conceive)

Hang in there... hopefully they'll all split beautifully and you'll have enough for PGD.

12

(29 replies, posted in Trying to Conceive)

Completely normal. I balled my eyes out the day of my retrieval. I rarely cry and hadn't during my whole TTC journey but that day I was so scared about only getting two eggs; I was sure it wasn't going to work.
With just two eggs I couldn't get PGD and I was scared of transferring without PGD to miscarry 3 months into a pregnancy.
Feelings are normal but hopefully everything turns out good for you.
Best of luck!

I too hated the idea of the BC pills but it was my REs protocol. They do help avoid cysts which if present, could cancel your cycle.
Hang in there, I was so resistant to the protocol my RE came up with I was the one who cancelled the 1st cycle because I wasn't happy with a retrieval when I only had 4 follicles.
I went with the flow on the next one because I was just frustrated and I was already looking at driving 5+ hours to see another RE. I had 2 follicles on that retrieval, worst than what it would've been the previous cycle.
We tranferred those 2 at day 3 and my RE was able to mature another 3 follicles in the lab.
I got pregnant with 1 baby from the fresh transfer and I have another 3 frosties.
I never planned for it to take this long, I'll be 37 in Sept, but it's just the way it turned out.
Best of luck!

They sell reusable ones too so you can make the food at home and fill them.
I think they come in different sizes too.

Pregnancy was a breeze until 28 weeks hit, then all the aches and pains started.
Belly is still so small I wonder where he's hiding. I've been sleeping as much as possible because it's all I want to do. It's awesome having an excuse LOL!!

Congrats! I found IVF much less stressful than any IUI cycle.
The guesswork is taken off your hands and everything is perfectly timed. No worry of ovulating too early or too late and you KNOW what they are transferring in is an actually embryo.
Best of luck to you both!

I'm a week late but baby boy (no name yet) and I are finally in the 3rd trimester. Still surreal, even when baby kicking all day!
My bump still looks like I'm just fat LOL! But I started wearing clothes that enhance it and sometimes I can see it!
My pregnancy was so easy for the first 2 trimesters but now I'm definitely starting to get those aches and pains. I'm a fast walker and I have to remind myself constantly to ease up on the speed.

I started seeing the Maternal Fetal Specialist and he did one of those extensive US that measure everything. Baby was doing great but he referred me to the Fetal Cardiologist with the only reason that it's an IVF pregnancy. I was skeptical about needing to go so I consulted with my OB who said they hadn't found anything abnormal to grant a visit to the cardio. So I skipped it.

I had another appointment last week with the MFM but all they did was an US. I asked the tech if they did 3D as I hadn't had a good picture since 12 weeks. She tried and tried but baby was not having it. He covered his face!!!

I've bought tons of clothes in thrift stores for the first 2 years.
I pretty much wait until they have 50% or 75% off sales and buy what I like in any size.
I've bought onesies for as low as $0.17! I probably have spent less than $150 on everything, including sleep sacks and hats.
Baby clothing is usually in wonderful condition or even new. I was just doing baby laundry today of just the NB-3mo which is what I'll have out for now.
When baby grows out of it, the clothing will just go back to the thrift store as a donation.

I had zero morning sickness. I did get out of breath easily and sometimes dizzy.
Pregnancy has been uneventful with a few aches and pains here and there.
I know I won't feel like this for long as baby is gaining weight and less days are passing before my sciatica or ligaments hurt.
Very sleepy all the time too, it's so hard to get up in the mornings.

I'm so sorry you're feeling this way. I would've probably done the same if I had conceived twins and my clinic allowed it. It's an amazing gift you gave to someone, even if they didn't conceive from the transfer.
I wish my clinic would let me donate for someone going through infertility. I have 3 left and their options are to donate to science or destroy which is why, after never seeing myself with more than one, I'm already thinking about #2.
If you're feeling really strongly about it, it might be worth looking into doing one more round.

I'm already in contact with 2 families. Not extensive, just have a FB group and post pictures once in a blue moon. One of them friended me so I see photos more often.
I want to have the communication already there for my child in case he ever wants to see or meet them.
I will not offer the information unless he asks and if he ill make sure the distance is kept until I think he's ready to understand that they are not automatically family.

Just a heads up, 451 tends to sell very fast. Youll get an email notification (if you sign up for one) and he'll be gone in 10mins.
I was going to use him but never got a chance before switching to a different bank at my REs request.

I would trust the CB.
If you cycles are that inconsistent, I would test with the Wondfo more often.
I used to test at every bathroom visit with the wondfo and once it looked +, I would confirm with the CB.
My surges were short so if I had tested 2 or 3 times a day I would've missed every single one.

I've had horrible luck with US. Haven't gotten a decent picture since 12 weeks.
My MFM sonographer tried and tried to get his face but he wasn't having it.
I'm trying to book the 3D one And hopefully lll get a good photo then.

Periods have very little to do with fertility. I had perfect periods all my life and ovulated every cycle but was unable to conceive with IUIs.
Best thing is to consult your doctor tonmake sure you're ovulating.

The worry is horrible. Hope you're able to get answers soon.
I bled from week 4 to week 8, spent a lot of $ on US at my RE to make sure everything was ok.
It wasn't until I had my pap that the Ob found a polyp and removed it. No more bleeding since.
Hope everything is ok.

With my first I announced on FB after she was born.

I might end up doing this. Every week I say "next week" and that next week comes and goes.
Problem is I want the world to know already!!! Lol!
Have no idea what to do if I were to tell, I have no nice US pics as my Ob's machine is pretty bad.

I'm 21w3d and still haven't announced on FB.
I don't know when I'll do either. Only 10 people know, most are close family.
I might come out at work soon because I'm always complaining of being hungry and my stomach is a little bigger. My sister says you can't tell yet but I sometimes feel huge.

Hmm... I don't think they "need" it as long as the convertible accommodates from early age.
My sister had twins and used a double umbrella stroller with newborn inserts from the start. Of course, with twins it was easier than having two infant car seats.
My best friend says the infant car seat is the best because of what you mentioned about of not waking up baby when getting in and out of car.
It's so hard to decide!

Experienced mamas:
Travel system or lightweight stroller?
I already have my convertible car seat (5-110lbs) and was planning to buy a travel system but I'm not so sure anymore.
Whichever I chose, I want something that can be parent facing for earlier months.
I also plan to baby wear.
I've been looking at:
Graco Views (travel system)
Summer infant 3D flip (light weight stroller)
Urbini Reversi (lightweight stroller)
I don't want to spend a fortune on a single stroller because I'm still undecided about baby #2. Also needs to be light and fold small which the above mentioned do.
Any suggestions highly appreciated!!

Edit: I should also mention that where I live you drive everywhere. I don't see myself using the stroller for lots of outdoor activities, mostly shopping and dr appointments.

Don't go, run!! Lol!
I tried for months at home and when I went to the RE I found out I had a tumor on one of my ovaries that needed to come out.
I had regular periods and always got a +opk. I've never had a problem my entire life! Always ovulated according to progesterone testing but, after many IUIs, I wouldn't get pregnant.
So IVF was my next step. Worked on the first go and it was such an easy process. I'm not saying everyone should go straight to IVF but I wish I had listened to my RE. I insisted in more IUIs because there wasn't anything wrong with me and I was having textbook cycles. I thought IVF was this terribly emotionally and physically draining procedure and it was far from it. I found IUIs much more taxing.

Mine was $35 on eBay . I got it at 9 weeks but wasn't able to hear HB until 13w,
I have lots of padding and found out later have an anterior placenta so it makes it more difficult.
It's very easy to confuse your own heartbeat and placenta HB with baby's. All those 3 sound different.
Now at 18+ weeks I can feel from the outside where baby is so I can find HB much faster but he doesn't like it and quickly moves away.

I'm really sorry I haven't been able to keep up with all your wonderful updates.
Anyone who would like to take over?
I can definitely continue but you might have to continue to bear with me forgetting to update some days.
