Re: Introduce Yourself Here :)

Hello everyone! My partner and I had a child through NW Cryobank 2 years ago and are currently trying for our second.  Keeping our fingers crossed that it will work out for us! smile

Re: Introduce Yourself Here :)

Hi,

This has been an idea in my head for years and i kept holding out hope that Mr. Right would come along, now I'm 38 and wishing I had decided to do this sooner. I know some people might say this is the craziest thing I have ever done but I think it might be the most sane thing I've ever done! Excited and nervous, but glad to see that I am not alone in this!

All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.

Re: Introduce Yourself Here :)

Hi Everyone, smile

I've been browsing these boards since January when I decided *this* would be the year I start "trying."  Finally!

For most of my life, I have been looking forward to being a mom.  At 35, I decided that the time for looking for a partner was over (for now) and that it was time to start the process of finding a donor.  I spent most of 2013 getting things in order and preparing my body for this challenging process.

I am beyond excited to start TTC now that fall has arrived!  I love all the support and encouragement on this site.  And I am so glad to finally be joining you all on this journey. smile

The best is yet to come! smile

Re: Introduce Yourself Here :)

Hello all, My name is Sarah and my wife's name is Sara.  Hence the Saratimes2 smile.  I am 30 and she is 28.  We have been together for 8 years tomorrow (Nov 1) and married (in DC) for 3 years in December.  We've been ttc for over 2 years.  We started out using a doctor and IUI.  5 tries with no pregnancy, 2 more both resulting in pregnancy and then miscarriages.  I've had all kinds of tests done and they all say there is nothing wrong with me at all.  So after 20K $$ down the drain we decided to try at home with frozen.  We've now tried twice at home with no result and are within days of try #3 at home, #10 overall.

If anyone has any advice for trying at home with frozen I am all ears!  Thanks!

Re: Introduce Yourself Here :)

Hi everyone!

I thought it was about time I introduce myself as I've been trolling the boards for a few weeks now. Lol  My name is Bianca.  I'm 31 years old and mommy to my wonderful 10 year old son.  I've been with my hubby for 8 years and am now ready for my second child.  I look forward to getting to know everyone!  I guess I'll post my questions elsewhere since this is for intros.  wink   Hope everyone has a great weekend and baby dust to all!!!

Re: Introduce Yourself Here :)

smile I am very much feeling like the new girl in the class! I am Timika (34) and my wife, Joyce (38) ; we have been TTC for a about a year. We  do have a beautiful 6yr old from my previous relationship.  We started out doing IUI's at a clinic about an hour away from our home. I had 3 IUI's and she had one. I got a BFP last march but miscarried at 8wks. We were devastated. sad  We tried another IUI on me again in September after purchasing our 1st home. It was not successful.

We decided to take a break and regroup...not to mention we were adjusting to being new home owners. So of course I threw myself into TTC research. I came across NW Cryobank and felt hopeful about possibly finding a less expensive way to TTC without the middleman.  We are hoping that we can try more often and get two BFP...One for HER and one for ME big_smile big_smile !

Re: Introduce Yourself Here :)

I am a 39 year old single woman who has desired children for years. I have just decided over the past several months to use donor sperm and try an iui. Just ordered my first sperm and plan on doing the iui as soon as I ovulate.  Nervous!  Never thought I would be paying for sperm or thinking of raising children on my own, always thought the night in shining armor would ride in on his white horse, take me to the altar and then we would have children. I guess our plans don't always work out. But I am so excited and I know that I can do this! That this is even an option!  I WAS ALWAys meant to be a mother smile

Re: Introduce Yourself Here :)

Hello, my name is Lacy, I'm 34. My husband and I found out about a year ago that he cannot get me pregnant. It was heart breaking for both of us. I'm trying to weigh all my options and recently started to look into getting pregnant by a donor.
Would some one be kind enough to explain the process from start to finish? Everyone here seems like they have a lot of experience and I'm feeling a bit lost.

Total newby,

Lacy

Re: Introduce Yourself Here :)

Hi! I am Kara and my wife is Terra. We are TTC our first. I am 28 and she is 41.  We are in our first TTW from 1 vial of ici at home. We both really want to conceive at home. We tried once a year and a half ago but it failed. Hopefully we will have better luck this time smile can't wait to meet everyone!

Re: Introduce Yourself Here :)

Hello everyone.. I'm Valerie (28) and my partner of 5 years is Tracy (49). We are TTC my first - Tracy has a 19 year old daughter. We have given ourselves a year to try at home with donor sperm - fingers crossed! I have been tracking my cycles since July 2013 only via CBE smileys and CM. Tried to keep up with BBT but it is near to impossible for me to get up at the exact same time every day and it was never consistent. Our first attempt was Jan 2014 with 1 vial at 33 hrs post smiley (planned on 24 hrs but nothing worked out right!) and unfortunately resulted in a BFN. Second attempt was set to be Feb 2014, but ovulated earlier then I have in the past 6 months I've been tracking my cycles and unfortunately our little swimmers are not here yet!! So will send it back and try again in March. I have been lurking on this board for a year and am excited to start our own journey.

Re: Introduce Yourself Here :)

Hello everyone smile

I’m new to posting but not new to this site. I discovered this site three years ago when I first became interested in using donor sperm and has stalked it ever since lol. I had submitted my paperwork back then but changed my mind about going this route. Well, fast forward to now. I have submitted my online paperwork and plan to TTC in April. I’m 30yrs old, already a mother to one, and single. I decided that I’m no longer waiting around for Mr. Right to have another child.

Re: Introduce Yourself Here :)

Hello! My name is Christine, and my husband is Nathan. We tried ttc naturally for a year while I kept track of my cycles. I started getting worried after only a few months because I had pinpointed my ovulation dates, we timed things well, and my cycle seemed just fine. Something had to be wrong. Fast forward several tests, a surgery, and nearly another year, and we are left with unexplained profound male infertility that can't be fixed. We are going to start at-home iui this month. I am excited, but realize that the chance of getting pregnant in any given month is quite low, so I am trying to brace myself for another long haul. I'm looking forward to reading up around here and learning from everyone's experiences, especially with the at-home inseminations!

Re: Introduce Yourself Here :)

hi all,

I'm Stephanie (amazed at how many Stephanies there are here!).  I'm 40 years old and a SMBC-to-be.  Frankly, this whole process is a little terrifying. smile  When my 40th birthday came up, I decided that I just couldn't wait for the right guy to come along anymore.  My support system is great, but their reactions to this could go either way.  In any case, I'm beyond thrilled to be trying and anxious to read about all of your experiences, particularly those who are trying at home!

Cheers,
Stephanie

Re: Introduce Yourself Here :)

Hi everyone! My name is Diana, I'm 30 years old, and I have one child. My daughter is seven and was born without medicine or assistance in a previous relationship. My husband has no children, and we have been trying to get pregnant for five years now. We found out that he does not produce sperm and we were devastated. Now, we are hoping to add one more child to our family through donor sperm. It's kind of our last hope. Nice to meet everyone and best wishes!

Re: Introduce Yourself Here :)

Hi, My name is Christa and My wife is Jennifer.  I had three children (all girls 11,8,3) from a previous relationship. Jennifer is an awesome mom and I can't wait to share a new life with her. I feel very greedy on here looking to get pregnant with number 4. Think of me as someone who has experience. As much as I already know about getting pregnant (and with wife being a RN) we still have to "try" like everyone else and hope one takes (or two). I stay home with my daughters and enjoy every minute of it. They are small for such a short time and you can NEVER get that back!! We have already tried several ICI's and are trying again this month. I am 40 and Jen is 44 (sorry babe) so we have NO time to waste!! Cheers to all!!

Re: Introduce Yourself Here :)

Okay okay I've creeped long enough. My partner has vowed to throw this iPad out the window if I don't stop soon I'm really hoping it's the hormones  neutral (wishful thinking) my partner and I have been together coming up on 4 1/2 years. She has wanted a baby from the get go. However I felt compelled to be better prepared I wanted to finish degree and have a career that was secure. I really would have preferred to buy a house but we aren't to far away from that (I really should have listened to people about credit when I was a reckless teen) hind sights 20/20. Anyways she looked at me not to long ago and said babe we are exactly where you wanted to be and I've stood by and supported your every step so please fulfill my dream and start a family with me. Who could say no to that. Lol. We started with me researching day and night for how we wanted to take this step. Looking at every aspect and planning to a tee. I'm a Virgo it's definitely in my nature. We then started to track her ovulation using first choice as well as clear blue advanced. After 3 months I came to find she was on point every month cycling on day13/14 every time. We found nw and I loved it. Narrowed it down to 4 donors we liked and bought two vials of the same donor. One iui one ici. We did our first insem on June 4  at 12 hours and second at 36 hours. This waiting game if awful. I've been on here reading everything I can. I was so confident that it worked within the first couple days but as I read on and on I'm am starting to get discouraged see all the strife and struggle people have gone through. I will not give up hope though. Our god is an awesome god and I truly believe what is meant to be will be. We are currently on 7dpo and  myself and her are nervous wrecks. Agh time speed up. She is tired and cranky and feels bloated but we are trying not to look to far into things. I'm hoping to give you all a positive update come next week. I just wanted to introduce us and get some of that baby dust. I want to thank everyone for taking the time to update these and talk so openly about something so personal it has been a blessing. Also how great is it that these opportunities to start a family as a lesbian couple are even available to us. The world is definitely changing.

Re: Introduce Yourself Here :)

I'm Audra (30) and my partner of 11 years is Nichole (31). We are originally from Orlando, Fl and now reside in Gainesville, Fl. We are currently on our TWW from our first IUI (June 11) with donor sperm from NW. We are very hopeful for beginners luck smile Either way we're just going to stay positive. I am a teacher and Nichole is trying to get into vet school. I am glad to be teaching summer school because this waiting business is HARD! It's only been 2dpi. Tick tock....The insem made me very tired and feel a bit funky for the first day. Feeling back to normal now. Hoping for June 25 to get here quickly so we can find out if we're pregnant!

Re: Introduce Yourself Here :)

Hello, I am Amy Kate (32) and my wife is Morgan (29). We have been ttc since Dec '13. We started with a known donor and at tried at-home ICI for 5 months. After these unsuccessful attempts we took the summer off and consulted my OB-GYN who performed all the standard fertility testing (ultrasound, bloodwork, and HSG). Everything came back normal except my progesterone levels which were low. We now have our first appointment with an RE coming up this Friday to address the progesterone issue and the steps for moving forward. We have decided that we will switch to using an open donor from NW and we will attempt IUI's at home.

If you have any advice or experience to share on the process, we would love to hear it!

Good luck and baby dust to everyone  big_smile

Re: Introduce Yourself Here :)

Hello,
We are Lisa and Sharon and we live near Portland, OR. We hope to start TTC in April. We are both in our mid-30s, recently married but have been together for nearly 4 years. We would be interested in meeting up with other couples in the area for support and friendship.

Re: Introduce Yourself Here :)

Hi there! I've been reading about your journeys for several months, and in many ways I already feel connected to the support that's here. I suppose that's why I decided it's time to introduce myself.  I am 39 and single and have decided to pursue my mommy dreams via donor.
My first try was an ICI at home in September, BFN. On October 13, I had an IUI with my ob/gyn.  Now I'm in the middle of my TWW and in the spirit of trying to stay sane, I spend a lot of time here with you. Even though this is the first time I've written, I find comfort in knowing that so many strong women share this journey.
A big, healthy handful of baby dust for us all!

Re: Introduce Yourself Here :)

Me and my husband have been trying for a baby for over three years now, We were going to a fertility clinic for about 8 months before somebody told us to contact this spell caster who is so powerful, We contacted him at this email  arewaspecialistttemple@gmail.com  I copied the email and I sent him a mail he replied me and I told me all my sorrow is over, but after three years of trying we were at a point where we were willing to try anything. And I'm glad we came to Dr Dahiru, Because his pregnancy spell cast put us at ease, and I honestly believe him, and his gods really helped us as well, I am thankful for all he has done, he then told me that I should wipe my tears with such comforting words he told me to buy some items that his going to use to cast the pregnancy spell I did and he made the spell for me and told me when next I meet with my husband I we conceive,at first I thought it was a scam but I just followed my inner mind and I sent the money for him to buy all the items after some months I went to check with my doctor and I was 4weeks pregnant, thanks to Dr Dahiru spell temple,I want to use this medium to tell everyone having similar problem. contact him via email: arewaspecialistttemple@gmail.com  if you are trying to get a baby or want your lover back. he has powers to do it, he has done mine,

Re: Introduce Yourself Here :)

Hello everyone!
I am a divorced mother of a 15 year old son.  I have always wanted to have a large family with lots of kids.  Things haven't gone my way in the romantic sense.   I turned 40 this year and have been well aware of my AMA for several years.  I decided that even though my dreams of marriage haven't yet come true for the 2nd time, I can still move forward with my dreams of having more children.  I am physically fit and financially stable.  I have no reason to believe that I still can't get pregnant on my own so I decided to try at-home fertilization for a few cycles.  I selected donor 754p.

Re: Introduce Yourself Here :)

Hello all!

My husband and I tried two cycles of ICI at home about seven years ago (he's a trans guy), and neither one took. We decided to take a break before trying again, as I was getting very discouraged thinking I was the problem. He claims the timing just wasn't right- shortly after we both lost our jobs, his mother was diagnosed with cancer, it was a hectic and stressful time in our lives. Then we were blessed with adoption, and have had a very joyous nearly five years with our son. He has been asking for a sibling for some time now, and we of course have been wanting a second child as well. We've decided to start TTC again, and I have an appt in June to see an OBGYN to get myself checked out and have some questions answered.

I found NW by comparing prices (the bank we used last time has doubled their prices), and this bank just feels more right anyhow. Hopefully we will get our swimmers in the new few months!

Re: Introduce Yourself Here :)

hello all! my name is Paige and my wife Jennifer and I just began our TTC journey. she is an EMT in training to become a paramedic so we felt comfortable trying our IUI at home. unfortunately the first attempt was unsuccessful but we look forward to trying again in about another week. Im having such a hard time keeping my excitement and anxiety under control and im worried it is effecting my chances. we thought for sure we had succeeded this first time because of so many symptoms i had that were unusual for me but then AF showed up with lots of horrible cramping and blood clots that i am not accustomed to. I hope It didnt not work because of something to do with me. Wish me luck in the next week and I will also be doing the same for all of you. Donor 674 just seems to right for us. good luck all with lots of positive thoughts!!!

hello all! my name is Paige and my wife Jennifer and I just began our TTC journey. she is an EMT in training to become a paramedic so we felt comfortable trying our IUI at home. unfortunately the first attempt was unsuccessful but we look forward to trying again in about another week.

TTC with IUI #2 9-10dpo I'm so scared and nervous. The first time we did the IUI I was sure I was pregnant because I had so many symptoms and then I wasn't, this time I don't feel different at all, just really tired like after you take Benadryl or sleeping pills and didn't get enough sleep, and I've had mild cramping off and on since about 5 days passed insemination day, pretty bad back pain, and sore breasts and nipples, but my CM has been consistently really wet. But this time I've been so weepy and crying because I've convinced myself I'm not pregnant this time either. Maybe I'm wrong like last time. No matter how much you try not to get your hopes up every BfN breaks your heart. Lots of positive thoughts and baby dust to you all.

Hey everyone! My wife and I will be trying in August doing two at home IUIs with a midwife and 1 ici that my wife will be performing. We are really excited to get started and start this journey to motherhood.

Trying since June 2015 for baby #1. Took a break for 8 months and are trying again!
