Topic: Does little to no morning sickness = BOY

I'm am now 11 weeks and I have had little to no morning sickness. I've heard that this can mean that I have a higher probability if having a boy. So it's only natural that I seek counsel from the expert mamas here on this board smile So did you have MS or not with your boy or girl?

Re: Does little to no morning sickness = BOY

With both of my pregnancies (both boys), I had nausea.  With my last son, I was nauseous all day for about 14 weeks.  It was horrendous.  I've heard the same as you, that it tends to be a boy if you have little or no morning sickness but it's not necessarily true.  I've know people that had girls that weren't sick and had boys and were very sick so I guess it just depends.

Re: Does little to no morning sickness = BOY

I had no vomiting at all, but did feel nauseous or queasy almost every day until I was around 10 weeks along.  I had a boy  smile

But really, I don't know how much water the boy vs girl morning sickness theory holds - I've known plenty of people who were sick as dogs during pregnancy and they were having boys.  It's fun to hear others' experiences, though, to try to make gender predictions!

Re: Does little to no morning sickness = BOY

My sister was sick for 8 1/2 months with her son and 2 months with her daughter. So I'm not sure.

Re: Does little to no morning sickness = BOY

I thought less morning sickness meant girl.  smile  I had very little morning sickness and a girl.

Re: Does little to no morning sickness = BOY

I felt a little motion sickness or hungover feeling for a few weeks with my girl...but really that was it. So far it was a little worse this time around from week 5-7 but I think it has stopped as of this week. Don't know what I'm having yet tho. My sister had two boys. One she had no morning sickness and the second she had it bad.

I was really sick with throwing up. Had to take Zofran which helped a little, but never completely took symptoms away. I had a girl!

With my daughter I had no ms whatsoever.  With my son I was nauseous on and off the first trimester.

First of all ..... OMG .... CONGRATS!!! So happy for you!!

Second, my morning sickness was nearly identical with both kids (1 boy and 1 girl).
Started exactly at 6 weeks, ended at 14 weeks.

Re: Does little to no morning sickness = BOY

Not a moment of ms and had a girl. No one in my immediate family has ms regardless of gender.

Re: Does little to no morning sickness = BOY

I felt nauseated from 6 weeks - 14 weeks, and had no appetite. I only threw up 5 times, but I lost 15 pounds. He is a boy.

My wife carried our other three boys and had varying degrees of ms, particularly bad with the third, which made her convinced he would be a girl.

Re: Does little to no morning sickness = BOY

I had very little morning sickness when I was pregnant with my daughter (it was more like occasional evening nausea, but I never vomited, not even once), so it wasn't that bad. Also, congratulations on you BFP!  smile  smile

Re: Does little to no morning sickness = BOY

Thank you njmomma and shaeley mae! I took the intelligender test a few days ago and it said girl so we'll see. My mother was telling me that she had MS with both my brother and I but it was a lot worse with my brother and according to my cousin she had no MS with her son and horrible MS with her daughter. It seems to me that MS has more to do with the individual carrying the baby than the specific gender. So I guess it's safe to say it's another pregnacy myth   wink

Re: Does little to no morning sickness = BOY

1st, little nausea, no vomiting - boy
2nd, major nausea, tons of vomiting - girl
3rd, lots of nausea, moderate vomiting - girl
4th, major nausea, moderate vomiting - boy.

For me, none of the old wives tales fit, except maybe "cold feet mean boy" I swear my feet have been cold since AI day in January!

No MS here and S is definitely a girl.  Sometimes a little tomboyish though!

Re: Does little to no morning sickness = BOY

Didn't read the rest but for me; yes!

Re: Does little to no morning sickness = BOY

I had ZERO morning sickness with my first pregnancy and birthed a boy.
I had HORRIBLE morning sickness during my second pregnancy and birthed another boy.
So, nope, doesn't mean a thing except that you should consider yourself lucky to have little to no morning sickness!

Re: Does little to no morning sickness = BOY

The wives' tale that was true for me was being hairy when you're carrying a boy. I didn't connect it until well into my pregnancy, but really from very early on I noticed I was shaving my armpits and legs WAY, WAY more frequently. I'm not typically a hairy person at all; usually you can barely see my leg hair in particular but it was growing really fast and thick! It went away immediately after giving birth.

Re: Does little to no morning sickness = BOY

No ms and we had a girl.  When do you find out?

I was extremely nauseous, and just generally sick and pukey from 6-13 weeks. I had a boy. A girl I worked with was due 3 weeks after me, had no ms to speak of and has a girl.

After 9 yrs & 1 devastating loss, we got our BFP at 9DPO ~ and welcomed our beautiful son on Halloween! Best treat ever!!

I had more monring sickness with Luca than I did with Sydnee. It started early. Not to mention passed out and got dizzy a lot during the last month of pregnancy with him.

Re: Does little to no morning sickness = BOY

First pregnancy was boy and I had a bit of morning sickness.
Second pregnancy is girl and I haven't had any.
So for me its the opposite  LOL

My theory is morning sickness has more to do with blood sugar levels. But maybe it's more complex than that.
