Topic: Nausea in later pregnancy

Am I the only lucky one?  Who else has had to deal with non-stop or reoccurring nausea through their whole pregnancy?  And what worked, because nothing that worked in the first trimester works in the third!

Re: Nausea in later pregnancy

I'm dealing with it too. We seem to have a lot of the same issues, and you're only 4 days ahead of me. Every morning I eat and then feel so sick. Then it comes back in the evening. I'm just glad I'm not throwing up like I did until 16 weeks. Been like this since maybe 23 weeks. I keep thinking that I have never felt worse in my life than I have this pregnancy. I refuse to take the medication again though so just suffering through.

Re: Nausea in later pregnancy

When Amanda was pregnant with H she would get nauseous when she moved in her belly.  Such a bummer since feeling them move is us usually so awesome. Luckily that didn't happen when she was pregnant with I.

Re: Nausea in later pregnancy

My cousin is currently 7 months pregnant. She had horrible nausea and vomiting until the ending of her second trimester which started again recently.

Re: Nausea in later pregnancy

I didn't have it during the second trimester but it definitely returned during the third.   Fortunately it wasn't as consistent as the first trimester.   I have had to eat a lot of very bland foods during the third trimester.  I think I have actually thrown up more during the third trimester than during the first.  I hope you get some relief soon.

Re: Nausea in later pregnancy

I continue to have it sad  Nothing works and I have just come to the conclusion that pregnancy sucks!!  I know it will all be worth it when LO gets here.

Re: Nausea in later pregnancy

Thanks guys!

I was sick right to the end with both Moose and Tiny as well, but not to this extreme.  I'm still on one dose of Diclectin a morning and one in the evening, and if I skip it its 2 days of vomiting.  With the girls I was able to be on one dose at night only till the end.

I think this pregnancy is just going to suck till the end, just to remind me that this is IT, no more babies from my body!  I want to go back in time and kick myself for all the times I said I loved being pregnant 2 years ago, because I am pretty sure I have not had a single enjoyable day to this one.  Separated pelvis, dislocated rib, nausea and vomiting, headaches, swelling (but my BP is still low) dizzy spells (because my BP is low), bottoming out sugar levels (at least this is an excuse to have candy!) fatigue, I feel like putting my picture beside the definition of pregnancy issues and saying "at least you probably don't have it this bad"!

And yes, I am making a point of counting my blessings too - I am healthy (if feeling like poop), my baby boy is big strong and healthy, I have a roof over my head, food in my pantry, a family who I would die for and would do anything for me, and an amazing midwife.

ETA, I have no idea why my ticker is off by 2 days.  They're trying to keep me pregnant longer!!

Re: Nausea in later pregnancy

I have been getting nauseous again in the middle of night/morning.  The morning sickness for me, never really went away, but got dramatically better after 18 weeks.  But, now this has returned in the middle of the night.  I think it's that the babies need more calories and I just can't make it through the whole night without eating, but then I can't fall back to sleep.  However, I do feel like it is night and day from the first trimester/ early second.  I'm starting to enjoy this pregnancy thing - except for the Braxton hicks, weird pains, and worrying if I feel one baby, but not the other.

Re: Nausea in later pregnancy

Nausea until the day after I delivered. I used one of those battery-powered, anti-nausea / motion sickness wristbands that sends a small shock into the appropriate acupressure point every 10 seconds or so as well as a nightly dose of 1/2 of a Unisom tab (not the gelcaps). Zofran only helped with the vomiting for me.

Re: Nausea in later pregnancy

aplusa, I do the middle of the night eating thing too smile  I have with all my babies, I think you nailed it, we don't get enough calories through the day (but I try!)

Re: Nausea in later pregnancy

Last night I only made it to 1am before I woke up hungry! (Yesterday was a big day, we were out in the sun walking everywhere looking for a new place to live.  We found it!)
