Topic: I guess every pregnancy really is different.

I feel like death! When I was pregnant with my daughter I was tired and queasy but nothing like this. I can't function and I'm hungrier than I've ever been in my life. I literally lay down every minute that I can, only getting up to eat or throw up. DH had things that he needed to do today so I had to send E to my parents' house for the day because I can't get it together.

I don't want to complain because, like all of you, we spent a lot of money to get pregnant and wouldn't change it for the world. I just need some reassurance that things will get easier...I hope!

I am pregnant with twins this time around but I'm not sure if it's because there's twins in there or if it's just because "every pregnancy is different".

I don't want to sound ungrateful but feeling so rotten 24/7 is awful!

I was incredibly sick the first 13

Re: I guess every pregnancy really is different.

I never threw up, just had some mild to moderate queasiness, but when I felt nauseous I ate and it went away.  Maybe if you just keep eating?    I found Ppreggie Pop Drops helpful--they are loke sour candy with ginger and B6 in them.  I was on prescription strength B6 and B12 all through my first trimester andI think thst had a lot to do with my lack of actual morning sickness.  Try taking extra B6 and B12.

If it continues to be this bad to the point where you are unable to do anything, I'd go to your dr and get a script for some anti nausea meds.

Re: I guess every pregnancy really is different.

if you are completely unable to function, or if it gets much worse than it is now, you might want to look into being put on z
zofran.  it's a life saver.

Re: I guess every pregnancy really is different.

I second what Babybay said. I'm taking Zofran now and it has literally saved me. I toughed it out the first 9 weeks. Then I got Zofran and felt soooooo much better. Not perfect but better. Also with te Zofran I can be a better mom to my toddler. I just couldn't function before. I don't mean to sound like a commercial.
Also my understanding is that with twins your HCg is higher and therefore it's more common to be sicker.
I hope you feel better soon!!

Re: I guess every pregnancy really is different.

Congratulations!!

I was sick and threw up at least once per day the first 22 weeks.  However, after I threw up each morning I felt much better.

Good luck!

Re: I guess every pregnancy really is different.

Thanks everyone.

I'm going to ask about the Zofran at my next appointment. I've been using the preggie pop drops for the last couple of weeks. They were pretty much the only thing that helped with my first pregnancy so I stocked up on them already. I've been trying to not let myself get too hungry because that's when I feel the worst. I just hate that the only foods that help to keep me from getting nauseous for any amount of time are loaded with carbs.

I know that it will all be worth it in the end...it's just really hard getting through every day feeling so lousy.

I took zofran from 9 weeks until the day I delivered at 24w3d. It improved my life.

Re: I guess every pregnancy really is different.

It's funny you say that about carbs.  My sister has a theory that I was so such during ny pregnancy because I are very little carbs and mostly ate protein.

There's a book by Barbara Luke that some doctors swear by for multiples pregnancies and others think is overkill.  It is a suggestion for a diet that gets you the healthiest babies possible.  I followed it as best I could and credit it partially with having good sized babies for 34 weeks.  I also lost all the baby weight right away, I think because I did focus on protein.  But u certainly are plenty of carbs!! smile

Re: I guess every pregnancy really is different.

My first pregnancy was awesome, the next 3 all sucked.  It's hard to remember to be grateful when all you do is puke.  No worries, no one is judging you for not feeling great!
